ABOUT
Chris grew up in Flamborough on the Yorkshire coast. Much of his work draws from the landscape around Flamborough Head, Bempton Cliffs and Spurn Point; where the prevailing north easterly wind has forced the hedgerows to grow at strange angles, providing permanent evidence of the wind's direction.Â
Latterly he has used the tidal flats of Scotland’s Galloway coast to inform his work.
Hot wax and caustic soda is used with lino to make relief plates. The plates are overlaid to print layers of transparent colour to produce images which focus on horizons punctuated with vertical and curved structures.
